Seattle Samurai: The Book

Seattle Samurai is out in paperback. A Will Eisner Award nominee and Pacific Northwest Book Award winner, the book follows the first Japanese Americans in the Pacific Northwest through the cartoons and comic strips of artist Sam Goto. I'm currently lecturing on the topic, focusing on the intersection of comics, history, culture and the American story — see where I'm speaking next.

BEHIND THE LENS

With my background in UX research and design strategy, I bring that same curiosity about people and how they tell their stories into photography. I'm finally starting a new practice — a full portrait and lifestyle photography practice based in Seattle, built around capturing genuine, natural moments.I specialize in people and their pets: senior portraits, family sessions, professional headshots, and events, all shot with an editorial eye and a relaxed approach that keeps the experience natural rather than staged. Two legs or four, everyone's welcome in front of the lens. View my photography practice →
